A) In a radio interview Hoyle sarcastically named the theory of the universe expanding from a point-like object/singularity \"the Big Bang\" Theory. b) 1952 (Hoyle favoured a steady-state theory in which the universe was constantly expanding and continually creating new matter as it went.)
