No,both are different words and have different meanings.Character may be good with no success and vice versa while Success may be or may not be associated with character.Character is the word most used in spiritual and moral world while Success is measured commercially mostly in todays world until and unless the whole world turns 100% ideal .

Success may or may not mean character. People achieve success both by ethical and unethical means today. The craze for success has reached such a crescendo that some people give anything for it ,even their conscience.

But character faces always defeat...
because character is always praised...
