Helo Rediff readers,
I am Neeta replying to your question. Abott Mount is 10 kms from Lohaghat, a small town of Kumaon, bordering Nepal. The height of the mount is 1300. It is a place developed during the British Period. They managed a hospital and a church there. One can see the rain water harvesting system of the times. There are graves of those who stayed there. The first date that I read on one of the graves is 1935(trusting my memory ) and the last is 1953. One can also see the Himalayn peaks from there. There are several wooden cottages which have been bought by people from Delhi and Nainital.
I know an organization that organizes trips to such places in the Kumaon region. You can write to patalbhuvaneshwar@gmail.com
