July and August are the seventh and eighth month of the year respectively. July is named after Julius Caesar and August is named after Augustus, the nephew of Caesar. 'Julius Caesar' is a play by British playwright William Shakespeare. Augustus is the name of two characters in modern English literature. Augustus Rookwood is the name of a character in the Harry Potter series (written by J.K. Rowling) and Augustus Gloop is the name of a character in 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', a book by Roald Dahl. Gloop is a glutton.
