The public must realize that rape is not a women's issue alone but much more than that. We should be ashamed that we are betraying our daughters, sisters and mothers. Rape, physical and verbal abuse at home, sexual harassment and molestation in public are all frequent nowadays. Respecting women and girls must begin at home. Parents should create a culture of peace and non-violence at home. Security, safety, protection and a violence-free city are the needs of the hour. Retrograde ideas about a womans place in society, socioeconomic insecurity and a crude yearning for power add other dimensions. Compounding the problem is the fact that many still view rape as personal shame, not a violent crime, and male aggression is routinely excused as a mundane fact of life. Rachna, we cannot really mentor that part of the society which has been going the wrong way steadily since long. There are some kind of people also existing among us who are disturbed leading to crippled character that show up nonhuman and some fall prey to them . Sad is the structure of our society which sometimes behaves so much hypocrite and no place for the innocent. Its makes no sense now bogging down to such mentality of people. Cannot talk for men, but let women get more self sufficient and stronger to protect herself along with all the roles she plays..!
