The theme of this years World Food day is united against hunger.

World Food Day is celebrated every year around the world on 16 October in honor of the
date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945

Lets take a look into our sanathana dharma. we say maatrudevo bhava ( every day)and follow it. : they the westerners say that one in a year and call it MOTHER's day. shall we import this ?
we say pithrudevo bhava( everyday) and follow it: they the westerners say that once in a year and call it the FATHER's day. shall we import it?
we were thought to say aacharyadevo bhava everyday. we imported their 1 day praise /remember theory and called it the TEACHER's day and we all know how the youth looks upon them.
we in sanathana dharma never believed in hoarding. we were thought to partake our food by first offering to a guest ( and say ATHITHIDEVO bhava) . since this is also lost perhaps our secular govt might as well import this too as you have suggested.

Great proposal no doubt. No doubt, if the proposal is mooted in the parliament/Assemblies, you will see essays on the issue from planning commission, finance commission and government and opposition. It will be proved the people will have to work hard for their meals and that all governments did their best to alleviate poverty and hunger and indirectly they will prove that the opposition in different people and a section of the people conspired to bring a bad name for the governments.
