People who oppose Foreign Investment on Retail are lamenting over existing local traders. But people forget that at present, middle men are looting both the FARMERS and CUSTOMERS. Our country is a middleman's paradise. This has to change. any com?

Some abstract interests are the reason behind the said opposition and rather concrete and vested ones promoting its lobbying, none has anything to do with the issue or its impact while the common man is conveniently confused by information overload and their stance no better than the tossed effects..
just for the sake of argument, what after crushing the indigenous structuring of local retail, FDI starts charging us way more than now, like for instance the soft drinks industry is charging 20-25 times more than its actual cost and that too with a substandard and differentiated product for the third world countries and we all know how our local products got dismembered slowly and softly.
but still the advent of FDI would discipline our own system for starters and once ridden of exploitative forces can re regulate it in some way..

Yes ....Middleman sucks the hard labour of poor people.

That must be stopped.

This doesn't mean foreign retailers may be allowed to squeeze us further.

Its true, but its not sure whether big company will directly purchase from farmers or will follow the existing practice as Reliance Fresh & Big Bazar is still folowing to by the product from middelmen only
