There should not be only two options for this question like true or false. All passions do not end up in addiction. Passion for knowledge, music, creative arts, writing, social work and welfare never lead you to any kind of addiction. Addiction has a negative connotation, meaning the condition of being abnormally dependent on some habit, esp compulsive dependency on narcotic drugs. But by Passion we generally mean boundless enthusiasm which is identified with a positive connotation. It is difficult to correate these two things as cause and effect.

The one who is passionate about film-making like me cannot be said to be addicted to film-making, whereas the other one who is addicted to liquor and smoking cannot be said to be passionate about liquor and smoking. So, the given statement is simply 'false'....!
