Yes, it is the old story of the grass being greener on the other side. We now are attracted to foreign destinations more than our own which is the main cause due to the marketing practices adopted by the tour operators & airline fares. A package to any part of the south east asia costs the same as a package to any part of South India for me being in North India & would be the same if you want to visit North India from the South part of India. Also, they offer huge discounts too along with much better facilities in the hotels abroad as compared to the counterparts in India.

The youth which is already quite so attracted by the western culture then grabs such opportunities with both hands to go on a vacation abroad. This is the crux of the problem pointed out by you!!

Exploring the new world and status symbol amongst the society. It is a fact.. Ghar ki murgi dal barabar..

Another fact is people opt to go to London or European Nations or East Asian Nations..

London is a hub of Crime design and illicit economy and East Asian Nations are the Transit Land of illicit economy.. Those people who go to these two.. should be investigated.. They must have some ties on this illicit economy.

I know a lady who take familes from humble background towards the exhibition cum pleasure trip in the foreign jaunts.. but actually she use those families for smuggling of gold and diamond.

So, foreign tourism is multifacted.. it cannot be linked with recreation only..

Our country is definitely blessed with lot of nature's bounty but it is also cursed with exploiters, cheats filth.and chaltha hai attitude. It is not at all tourist friendly.. When we visit most of the developed countries as a tourist we can be sure as to what kind of accommodation we are going to get, our travel arrangement, schedules etc. But In India most of the tourist centers are filled with dirt, unhygienic environment, infested with touts who are out to make a fast buck and make things miserable for a tourist. For a person who is interested in adventure sports like say, trekking, rock climbing, rafting, etc the organizers in India do not meet the required safety slandered. It makes better sense to go to Bangkok for paragliding as it is cheaper and safer than going to say Goa. It makes better sense to go for rafting to nearby Nepal rather than Rishikesh. Trekking and rock climbing felicities are much better in Cambodia than in any place in India.( I don't want to be unfair b ...more
