All these Commissions of Enquiryordered into various events are a sheer waste of public money. The 1984 anti-Sikh riots case is still going on with no notable convictions, except if I am not wrong one butcher who was given a life sentence. People like Bhagat who were the instigators of the riots have died in the mean time, but not before being a member of the Cabinet even when enquiries were on. Tytler is in and out. Sajjan Kumar is making a mockery of the great Justice system in this country.

So would be the case with Advani too. The whole episode was relayed on TV at that time. Videos were available. The Personal Security Officer has been around all the time. Why was her statement not taken in the first place, in all these 18 years?

This is not a one off case. This is the norm rather than the exception in India and indulged into by every party when in power whether at the Centre or in the States. If Mayawati starts becoming a pain in the back, they will pull out the Taj Corrid ...more

Why blame Advani? This sort of nonsense has been happening since we got independent. Why didnt' we separate Church from State and why didn't we declare ALL monuments as MInistry of Culture property and dispatch some central govt reserves to protect them? Oh well, 'coz tey're huntin down bad bad Tribals.

In 1947 we should have defined "Freedom of religion" as in freedom to go to place of worship, say my prayers and get my 6'0'clock home. REligion should NEVER have been allowed in public life.

They could have LEAST constructed a TEmple on common grounds, as a sign of secular courtesy, but then that didn't happen because we failed to separate CHurch from State.

I would have had the Babri Masjid, and a Ram TEmple on either flanks and a free hi tech hospital 4 da poor peepz in the middle which is flanked by proceeds / earnings from both those places of worship.

Hogwash , headlines say Advani made provocative speech but if you read the details all she has to say is Advani said" Mandir wahin banayenge" wasent he saying this all along since Ram Janmbhoomi movement,
The whole movement was for the same goal.

If we have to find real culprits lets think on these lines.

1, If supreme court was so serious on the damage to babri structure why it waited for 40 years ( till 1989) and never gave any judgment ? This case is pending in court since 1949 isn't Judicery responsible for build up of anger in masses ?

2. Did supreme court ever evaluated feasibility of enforcing any clampdown. How many para-militery forces were actually required to stop more then one carore people who set out to reach Ayodhya ?

3. Was this the most pending and urgent case ? If yes why they never pronounced any verdict between 1989 and 1992. ...more
