Q.
Why are some "experts" in govt suggesting we get into defense deals w/ US? Nothing against US equipment, but a Sukhoi-30 = HALF the cost of a downgraded PATENTED F/A-18- so 2 Su-30 = 1 F-18.
And Soviet / Russian deals w/ India comes w/ the "recipe type" (like open cola) ala blueprints so u can retrofit them say w/ a french radar etc. but w/ US hardware u can NEVER do dat...For F/A-18 part. u HAVE 2 go 2 US. W/ MiG-29 or Su-30, u get blueprints as well 4 parts!
Why do we want to buy from them and why are we even considering this awkward idea in modern Indian defense talk?

Sir i think Given some of the minus points................still the US military hardware is one of the best quality in the world.............also i believe our foriegn minister that US and India are natural allies n there cooperation should increase in every field to counter China's rising power and create a strategic balance in the world............also specifically i think F/A-18 is a better fighter jet then SU-30...........SU 30 is more agile and acrobatic but F/A-18 is more lethal plus many US technical innovations will come with it..........and it will also give the IAF good variety in there Stable of fighters
