It was Albert Einstein who said, "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." It means that the Science must walk with the help of crutches of Religion and Religion needs they eyes of science to move ahead.

Are they opposed to each other: No

Broadly both science and religion have always tried to improve the lives of humans, any oppostion we see in science to religion is where scientific explanation to certain phenomenons has not been uncovered. Both might have differences in their approaches, religion begins with the premise that we have to return to the top of the mounatin from which we have fallen where as science sees the top of the mountain as a destination we need to reach, but both talk of reaching the mountain top.

Is one scientific and the other unscientific: No

As Osho in one of his discourses had pointed out the great seers of the past have not helped w.r.t this difference that seems to exist, for all Buddha, Krishna, Mahavira, Zarathustra, Mohammed...... no one seems to have a scientific attitude for many times while expressing themselves, they became poetic. The reason he gave for this was "The realm of ecstasy, the realm of ultimate knowing, is so beautiful, the temp ...more

Science & Religion are never to Oppose each Other..............Allmost all Scientific Discovery came out of Religious Persons like Bishops....Priests.......Infact I feel Science & Religion are often Complementary to each other unless we are narrowed in sense of mere rituals............Yes it is True that sometimes Religious persons (mind it ,not the religion) Opposed a lot against a lot of scientists like Galilio....Lilabati...... & many Others......At present a controversy is going on with Human Clonning....Once it was with Human body part transplantation............If we are to make such conclusion then we may have to say WAR is beneficial for Human race........Just Examine the list of Scientific Discoveries during 1st & 2nd World war....All those inventions were polished & now widely used by us.....

Till today, i have not heard any name of scientist who said that there is no God. The more he gained the knowledge, the more he believed, the power of almighty, God and spiritualism. In this contest religion is altogether different.

No this concept has arised in the eurpean countries, the top brass people of certain religion tortured the scientists, as they went against their religious text, this do not mean that both science-religion oppose each other, science works only at physical level but religion works both at physical and metaphysical level, eg- science say MIND do not exists, but this is totally false, mind do exist and has more power than the bod so here religion is correct, not science, many such eg. can be given.Note only differences between both are the subject matter, method, etc, but they search TRUTH, so how are they against?

Not at all. Both have same destination with different paths. Where science failed, religion starts. Religion can not be proved as belief is the base where as science can be.
