Societies who have honestly declared the flats given on leases 10 times the tax is imposed, there are so many housing societies who have not disclosed same and penalities not been imposed
thus it proves it does not pay to be honest
also cxommitte members having grudge over a certain member files in its returns to assessor and collector department certain flats where oqwner occupied as given on leases the poor flat owner on basis of vindictive behaviour of society is made to pay a heavy price, hope Madam Radha Joint commissioner assess and collector dept Mumbai is listening.

The government is at fault for putting such a heavy tax rate on rented properties . This makes life miserable for common man who cannot get rented flat easily . Government should rationalise the tax rate first and then enforce the tax - Carrot and Stick policy . Otherwise no use.

Whenever rules like this come honest people r the one who suffer but in the
long run the same gets appended, loopholes closed and the culprit pays.
