Punjab farmers (the big ones) are such people that they get maximum benefits from the state govt. This apart from the country's law of No I.Tax on Agriculture. For 'no rain' or 'floods' Punjab farmers get compensations which amount to many times more than their actual loss. State govt pampers them. They are the richest farmers in India. Electricity is cheapest (if not free) for them throughout the year for running the water pumps and also for their domestic consumption.
Both Congress and SAD pamper the rural Punjab for votes like no other state.
Squandering 25 lakhs on a special no. for his vehicle, this farmer was just showing off his wealth. He must have sold an acre or two or more of his land at the going rate of One Crore per acre and must have constructed a Kothi in Chandigarh ... and to complete his opulence and sumptuous living, he spent another 25 lakhs for that 'special number'.
