Even Roman Catholics throughout Europe have reformed and ignore the diktats of the Bishop of Rome which prohibit the use of contraceptives. (Bishop of Rome is also known as the Pope.)

I guess there will always be need for porters and people to clean the streets - so I am sure some employment can be found for these ill-educated mob.

Their religion FORBIDS them from even trying to intervene in the wishes of the Divine, including the birth of children. They have to follow their religion. They know that they are poor because of the overburdened economy of having to maintain a large family with limited resource. No body is blaming these Ram sevaks etc for that. Their problem is their religion which cannot be modernised as "not a dot can be changed", unlike other religions which adapts according to times with full knowledge that religion and time both are creation of their Gods. So no harm in using commonsense. Commonsense after all is also is provided by the same God. That's ti.

Who blamed bjp or ram sevaks is no news to anyone. it is so said by you. it is not important to judge someone or a religion in particular just because of one or two families. if you had just mentioned " a family friend" it could have been fine , but seems you are drawing lines to your convinient mind frames. i have seen hindu and christian families with more children and they complain every one for their act of love ! what do you call this ?
and i firmly believ that irrespective of number of children , no one sleeps hungry today . dont worry the super power , the one and only god will take care for all of us. politicians or ram sevaks can do nothing

Since this question is put on "Religion & Spirituality" category....i must answer by taking care of this aspect ...

1. We can't and sh not blame anyone for poverty, since India is a country where Govt is not responsible for giving any employment or job opportunity....

2. Regarding producing large number of children should be handled with a proper awareness.....and that's why it is very much necessary for all indians (of all casts, creed & religion) - it is also a global issue....every year population is increased by 7 crore (globally)...it is the time to rise above mental blockage of religious rituals rather than this global issue......THAT'S WHY A UNIFORM CODE IS NECESSARY FOR ALL INDIAN CITIZENS INCLUDING "LALU PRASAD YADAV".

3. Responsibility is also for all individuals to produce QUALITY CHILD by seeing our future...and not just of produce in the name of 'Ram bharose' or 'Allah bharose'...

4. Please understand that, NO POLITICAL PARTY AT INDIA ARE SECULAR....ALL OF TH ...more

First myth - Muslim population growing more than Hindu - not true -infact groWth rate projected for hindus is much higher than muslims - i personally know a HINDU BRAHMIN FAMILY WHO HAS 6 KIDS THE MAXIMUM IN OUR AREA
ART BY N RAM JOUNALIST
We will like to begin with the myth that the rise of Muslim population is tremendously high and so they will outnumber the Hindus. The census surveys by religion totally negate this firmly held popular belief. Religion is one of the markers used in these surveys. As per 1971 survey Hindus constituted 82.7% and Muslims 11.2% of the population. The corresponding figures for 1991 census are Hindus 82.6% and Muslims 11.4%. (Malayalam Manorama, 1992). The marginal difference in the growth pattern as we will see a bit later has more to do with socio-economic factors rather than religious ones. Over all this statistics shows a reasonably 'stable' (religion wise) population. That apart even if the current differentials persist, it is not only unlikely, b ...more

Since Muslims do not want to change their rules of 1400 years even in modern times which require coexistence with others societies, will they like to live the way they were 1400 years back. This is the way Talibaan want them to live. Why then Muslims in Pakistan are opposing the imposition of Talibaan rule?

This one sounds like a prejudice or personal opinion for a friend being applied to his/her entire community. Such is not practical thing, considering a population of a Billion plus of our country.
A large family to support always causes burden on resources, and social science has told this time and again that poverty has this as a common factor.
If you singularly point your friend for having 3 or 5 children, why not look at population count at home of Laluji. Which religion inspired him?
Religion affects only as much as one follows...
