Q.
After the second world war, 200 + countries got independence. In 1947, India had more than 600 independent states; in a very short time and without much of blood letting, they were assimilated in the body of Indian state. Like India, no other country has got democracy, freedom of speech and independent judiciary and that too with a Billion people. In addition, we are the second fastest growing economy after China. Do you feel that very few Indians appreciate such great achievements of the founding fathers of our country?

Gotta to love the PEOPLE I agree 20000% on every count, the diversity here's awesome, but not the system. Decentralization is a BAD idea, Panchayati Raj was a literal hara kiri on the Republic of India. In Panchayati Raj system (I can't comment cirst hand on '47 but Grandpa would often facepalm himself when anyone bought it up) thing is most "chiefs" are communal / theocratic based.
We should've gone @ that diversity thru cultural ministry not thru de-federation, that was a bad move on our part. We have nothing to unify us :(
We get to b good Muslims, good family men w/ "high Victorian moral", good Brahmin who go 2 Temple, good student, husband etc. but beyond ration card ID & Passporte, we have no "unifying value"- and in some states if u keep a Hindi name, or suggest a common lang in name of Hindi, ppl raise slogans, this is terrible.
There is 2 much...regionalism here don't u think?
I wish we had strong leader who control Army handle the place. National identity is d ...more
