There are four vedas namely, Rig veda , the oldest among all the vedas , worshipping Pancha Budams, then Yajur Veda, is said to be done to evoke the God through Yajanas, Sama Veda, said to be in hymns, then the Atharva Veda, full of life and medicines. it is also said that prajapati have creatd the four vedas. The sages first heard the sound of hum originating from Prajapati hence the sound of Hum , that is vedas has been created. Prajapati means Brahma. it is also said that from the four mouth of Lord Brahma, Vedas has been created.
