Q.

Nirbhaya Case : A.P Singh, Defence lawyer:

The order has come under political pressure
If no ra*pe incident occurs in Delhi after this verdict, I assure you that we will not appeal in higher courts
But if rap*es recur, then the idea of sending out a message with this verdict will be proved to be flawed
Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had already spoken to all concerned before September 10 to ensure this was the outcome of the verdict
The convicts are disappointed but they always knew the outcome
Has he Not got a Valid Point there ??

HE IS TALKING NONSENSICALLY. As an advocate the speech like a politician tantamount to contempt of the court. The defence has every right to appeal and declaring it publicly is only appeasing the relatives of the culprits.
It is a also a nonsensical challenge that ' in case there will be no such crime' ,,,,,, because many culprits have been hanged for committing murders, but murders are still being done.
Judiciary can not digress what the circumstances and law proves. Taking the excuse of
Shinde had said something, is no argument worth anything.
Anybody who is ever to hear such a decision would surely weep; and for that they can not be given any mercy.
No.... the defendant advocate's doesn't seem to be right.
