Jyotigram - It has brought power and irrigation to so many farmers and has revived the power supply firm of the Govt of Gujarat. It is truly an ingenious project. You can see the case study of this project here - http://www.slideshare.net/InnovationIndia/jyotigram-innovation-fo r-india-award-winner

Jyotigram even won lots of awards for its innovative venture. You can see pictures of that here.

Jyotigram Scheme whereby 24 hours electricity is made available in all villages opf Gujarat. The most impracticable scheme announced by Gujarat is providing colour TV to all people living Below Poverty Line, instead of providing education, health and infrastructure facilities.

PDS & CMP. AND EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF IT- is what impressed me most. Which is why despite what all the doomsayers say about Kerala, it still leads the country in national HDI, HPI & literacy rates.

Kerala state may not have fancy skyscrapers & dudes wealthy enough to buy planes for their wives, but at least education & ration & utilities distribution is THE BEST I've seen- and can qualify for "second world" nations like Socialist Rumania, Hungary etc.

What's even more impressive is that the state gov has manged to accomplish it & MAINTAIN IT despite having a COMPLETELY contrasting central govt.
