The person who shows fear and timidity, we call him coward. However, the person who fights back in the face of danger we call him brave. Deep down in heart every one harbors some kind of fear or the other. How these feelings of fear erupt in us? Our unconscious is not very empty. Painful memories of those who brought us forth into this world fill our unconscious. Whenever, we encounter a painful situation similar to one they had encountered those memories are invoked to warn us. Those warnings are of two types. Some warn us to stand up and fight; others ask us to seek escape. How we act depends on whose warning has influenced us the most.

Everything, including the desire to procreate has its roots in 'instincts for survival'. The instincts for survival have its roots in fear of death. We want to live on; however, the death is inevitable; so we go to live in our generations. Since we did not cower due to fear of death, we began to procreate. Our cowardice and bravery depends on how ...more

I will answer it in 2 parts ......... first on coward ....... Could there be anything lower than knowing you're going to die, and deciding that you want to take as many innocent human beings who have families, hopes and dreams with you? It also astounds me so many people did and still they consider them as Hero. Can I call them Hero or Coward ?

I will call them a hero because at least they have a belief may be sadistic or lunatic belief but they are strong enough to kill themselves , thinking , what they are doing is correct .But what about us we are the most coward and spineless fellows in the world . Our only heroism is in the coffee house and / or writing such few lines in the blog. Im sorry to tell this but this is the most practical scenario we dont want to take risk , don't want to protest , want to be in the comfort zone and after reading the news , start blaming the political parties.

This is the cause for most of us to prove this proverb as a blind truth Cowards die many ...more

Cannot say that such a person is a coward. Fear may be born in someone due to bad experience which makes him/her a once bitten twice shy kind of person. Fear is a normal feeling as we are ordinary human beings and not superheroes. And the feelings like pain, sorrow, hopelessness etc do come to us at times. We should only take care not to lose ourselves completely but to try to come out of that fear.

It is very very true
But why this is true ?
When we loose our fellowship with most powerful God we help ourselves to miseries
When we forget God and seek to worship lesser beings is start of all evils
Why we worship or are fearful of lesser beings ?
Since we actually not yet know the majesty and glory of God
Then what happens ?
Then we seek to please lower beings or material powers for our security ,hope etc etc
When we loose fear of God then we become fearful of our death
Loosing fear of God makes us fear his creations ...more

It is so easy to call one who has fear as a coward, because what we are seeing is only from the outside with absolutely no idea as to what has led them to this fear. NO, Rohit, fear is not cowardice at all under all circumstances. Fear is not 'being scared' alone. Fear is an emotional response resulting from some experience that we may have had in our life, whatever it may be. Each of us are of a different mettle and each one of our's capability to come to terms with and respond to what is happening to us directly will be equally different stemming from so many factors as how we have been brought up to face upto a real world, how much trust & confidence was built into us as we grew up, not have been deluded with a concept that 'the whole world is inhabited by angels' and thus when we see things happening around, we are astounded as to why it is happening that way, either outside of us or to us, or events that may have gone on to affect us or make a deep impression in our growing ears e ...more

Coward is a harsh word.
