There are lots of GREAT sad songs, they smoothens the sharp edges of the painful experiences.
My List not complete, just few in mind right now :
"November Rain" and "Estranged" - both by Guns n' Roses
"E Lucevan le Stelle" - from Giacomo Puccini's opera "Tosca"
"I Remember You" - by Skid Row
"Who Wants to Live Forever" - by Queen
"Nothing Else Matters" - by Metallica
"Wildfire" by Micheal Murphy.
"The Trouble With Love" by Kelly Clarkson.
Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton

This pathetic state is when u are mentally depressed.by the way, science describes this as the way of more adrenalin secretion, where ur arteriole constrict, your mind must work along with ur body, but when it is depressed a state of less relation causes changes in hormones,in such a case a medium must explain the same cause,so people hear sad songs.
