Tendulkar achieved the feat when he drove Dale Steyn through the covers for a single on the fourth day of the first Test against South Africa at Super Sport Park on Sunday. Tendulkar entered the nervous nineties, dancing down the track to send left-arm-spinner Paul Harris soaring over the stands for a straight six. He reached 95 with that shot and then spent some anxious moments, consuming 16 more balls to reach the three-figure mark. When the moment finally came, Tendulkar raised his arms in the sky and looked upwards to thank the almighty - and his late father - and the Indian stands broke into celebration. Sachin Tendulkar has gone into a different zone. Nothing anymore can have a direct impact on Brand Sachin. After his 50th Test century, people will now start looking at his next milestone. That is how Harish Krishnamachari, the senior vice president of World Sports Group, the marketing firm that handles Sachin Tendulkar, reacted to the batsmans 50th Test century at Centurion on Sunday.
It (the 50th Test ton) doesnt make any difference to Brand Sachin. In the last couple of years, he has reached a level where theres no comparison. Anything he does will not impact the brand. People will just choose to look at what hes up to next,
Sahara India Parivar , sponsors of Indian cricket in the decade gone by, were also left speechless after Tendulkars achievement. Its unfair and blasphemous to even comment on Brand Sachin. Brand Sachin is on its way to immortality.
