Is caste plays an important role in voting ? mainly in U.P., Bihar Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh , M.P. and Rajasthan ? genuine answer please

Yes it does, Gopal. And although we Indians like to come out as secular minded & progressive & friendly...but on issues WHICH AFFECT US....we are about as communal (ala caste) as the Taliban.
We find it praiseworthy to have an actor with the name of \"Shahid Kapoor.\" We find it praiseworthy to have caste leaders & communal leaders holding each others hands and singing peace slogans.
However, Raju doesn\'t want to add an \"Ul-Haq\" to his last name after his daughter\'s marriage, and Jaffar doesn\'t want to add \"Paramaswamy\" to his last name....after his daughter\'s marriage....and a Fransisco don\'t want his family name to become Mezping after daughter\'s wedding...
