For gaining weight the simple answer is you need more calories than what you burn every day doing day to day activities or you may be active and have an exercise routine.
Ideal weight is suggested not only the basis of your height but on basis of your frame too. If you 5 feet 7/8 inches than your ideal would be 60 - 66 kgs if you have a medium body frame. (small frame 55 - 62 kg and large frame 65-74 kgs)
Your balanced meal should include increased portions of complex carbohydrates, proteins and good fats apart from lost of water (about 8 glasses a day).
