My passport is on my name after marriage, & i file a return with my maiden name? if i open ppf account with passport as a proof, will i be able to get deduction while paying tax?

You may get (I am not sure) provided you give a certificate from the Mamlatdar stating that the person with name in the passport and the person with the name in the IT returns is one and the same.
Easier than that would be for you to submit another photo ID l(could be driving licence, vote ID etc) with maiden name and open the PPF account.

Yes this is possible but you will have trouble when both of you have to travel abroad together on this passport it will better for you oif u get your name changed on passport

Your real name now is the one in the passport.
Have your name changed officially by giving an affidavit
duly notarized along with a copy of your marriage certificate or
issue an ad. in the personal column of a newspaper, after having your name changed in the government gazzette.
It is not so difficult and if done early, you will be spared from
a lot of difficulties in the future.
