In India,Police is state subject.From peon,pairokaar,sepoyee,deewaan with three atagories bearing one ,two or three tags on sleeves of shirt,then muharrir who write FIR in police station,Asst.sub-inspector,sub-inspector,[generally police-post / chowki in-charge]inspector,deputy s.p.also known as c.o.or circle officer covering authority over few police stations,assistant superintendent of police,then superintendent of .police.,senior s.p.,Deputy Inspector general,Asst.Inspector-general,
