All the characters in the epic failed at some point or the other including Bhisma, who did not protest the insult of Draupadi which took place in the open court in everybody's presence. In my opinion, the greatest character is Draupadi. She was to become the wife of Arjun as Arjun won her in the competition and Draupadi also loved Arjun. But on reaching the home of Pandavas, Kunti unknowingly told Judhistir that whatever they have brought with them, should be equally shared by all the five brothers and Draupadi accepted that then & there, without any protest. Remember that she was no dumb lady and later events have proved that. Surely it was a shock for her - but she accepted that for the sake of honouring the words of her mother-in-law. If she had objected ( of which she was capable of), that would have created a rift in the Pandav household. In addition to this great sacrifice on her part, I have not noticed any flaw in her character or actions.
