I do not like to eat beef and pork but like chicken, fish, eggs, turkey, mutton and shell fish. I do not think that to be spiritual one needs to be only vegetarian. Many non-veg people are also highly spiritual.
I feel that these gurus are vegetarian and hence propagate vegetarianism.
However, I understand that human beings are basically vegetarian because our teeth and digestive system is vegetarian and specially in old age, it is easier to digest vegetarian food than non-veg.

Those illiterate spiritual gurus don't know that humans were born non-vegetarians.

It depends how you look at it actually. I myself am a non veggie and have no plans to stop eating non veg. But there are people who find killing someone else for their personal need as wrong. Accordingly we have no right to kill anyone.
But again I don't believe it makes us a bad human being, if we do all the above that you have stated and do not harm any other indivisual intentionally.

If any spiritual Guru has advised you to do so then you should be asking this question to him. He, alone, can answer about his teachings.
Ranting on public forum like this will not get you an answer

Shirdi Sai Baba one of greatest Indian saints never prohibited eating non veggie foods and even got non veg items through his Brahman disciples from the market , how come our modern spiritual gurus are unaware of this fact ?
