That is Qn which each person with faith in ramayana shud ask themselves.
Shri Ram might have been an ideal man or Maryaada Purushottam of Thretha yuga, but NOT any more. The value system of life has evolved much with passage of 100s of years. Many values depicted in Ramayana are totally out dated. It is dangerous to follow them now, they are adversely affecting the progress of our country!

His deeds as a son, as a brother, as a husband (leaving aside the matter of Agni-Pariksha which I will deal with separately) and as a King, exemplified model behaviour and conduct and that is why he is called Maryada Purushottam.
