MAj. Gen. ZU Shah is the highest ranked Muslim officer in the army.maj. Gen. Shah is the Corps Commander of the III Corps and has a shot at becoming an army chief in the future. Intrestingly Mr. Shah is brother of great actor Nassirrudin Shah.
In the Air Force, there has been a Muslim Chief of Staff in the past Air Chief Marshal Idrees Hasan Latif. ACM Latif has had a lasting influence on Indias defence policy he was instrumental in setting up the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) program. He later went on to become the Governor .
