What to do is each individuals choice!

Marriage is less sacrosanct and divorce is no longer a bad word. Divorcing couples don't necessarily feel devastated and many look at the end of the marriage as a new beginning. That's a far cry from the time when divorcees along with widows were thought inauspicious and shunned by society.

Even traditional middle class families are now increasingly accepting the view that it is better to dissolve the 'sacred' union than be in a failed marriage. This is inevitable in a developing society. Long working hours, dwindling tolerance levels, competing ambitions are taking a toll on marriage.

Education and jobs have made women financially and emotionally secure and they see no reason to continue in an unsatisfactory relationship. In a rapidly modernising world, expectations from marriage, too, are changing fast. The reason for divorce could be anything from bad food to bad sex.
