Many Indians hold key positions in NASA, IBM, Microsoft and many reputed companies in US. Even some of President Obamas top advisers are Indians.Is it an indication of the reputation / respect Indians enjoy today?

Reputation and respect is NOT given for being an Indian. It is earned by some Indians who are found fit for the jobs they are entrusted with.
Whenever NASA operations are shown on TV or the Net on NASA websites, we don't find any Indian faces there among the scientists and technicians. At the most Chinese faces are seen along with White faces.
