It is not exactly Nehruvian Policies since Policies were the collective efforts.. but the crises came due to NEHRU's Integrity and his successors. What was the worst for India and other underdeveloped nations was SAP. This destroyed the whole system.

No. Nehru's mixed economy concept is the single largest factor of the strength of our economy which has stood the chaos of 2008 economic breakdown. While the socialist and capitalist economies failed with stand the economic turbulence India withstood it, thanks to Nehru's mixed economy. What ever failure we are having are due to other factors.

While devising a viable strategy Nehru envisaged a developed nation just at the outset of independence celebration...hence thrust was laid on agriculture, industry, transport, primarily....but his administrative and social policy failed beyond anticipation....rather it can be said that most of his policies has been misinterpreted and used as a weapon for creating vote bank....Reservation System is one such defamed and biased policy which should have been stopped during his lifetime after the expiry of its duration of 10 years of implementation....moreover pseudo secular policy is another great blunder which costs India now dearly....If Pakistan has been evolved purely on the basis of Muslim Community there should have been no logic to accept India as a secular country in its constitution instead of being purely a Hindu Nation....had it been so many social problems creeping now would have been pressed down with heavy hand.....Caste & community are now the greatest threat to the sheer in ...more

1) Why blame him for the present mess? He no longer lives and rules today! I do not understand this logic.
2) Hold only those people accountable who are responsible for the present state of affairs.
3) In fact, Nehru and other founding fathers of this nation, laid a strong foundation of democracy including setting up of C A G. Did the present dispensation follow the rules laid down in the Constitution Book? They are openly questioning the veracity of the institution and who is responsible for this act of betrayal. Not Nehru of course.

I can say it was 100% wrong policy of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru not knowing how much unending problems will happen to India in the future by appeasing China that time by saying Tibet which is 2.5 square million km in size with only six million people, as a part of Communist China and letting the evil Communist China to occupy Tibet completely. That wrong policy forced other countries to follow Nehru. Tibet was ruled by Tibetans only and no any outsider came to Tibet to rule Tibet until 1959. Check with the history of Tibet. Tibet has its own currency and coins, its own national flag, its own post office, its own culture, its own langauge, its own identy. its own way of life and traditions completely different from China.

Nehru's wrong policy made China to come and live next to the long border of India and making China very easy to create terrible problems and troubles to India. Now China claims Indian regions of Arucnahcal, huge parts in Ladakh, some parts in Uttarkahand and so on as ...more

It is not the Nehruvian policy but individual greed for power, money and fame, without deserving, creating big chaos in the country.
