My heart goes out to your uncle. I did see the video and don't understand why this is happening to him. I know several guys that have gotten liver transplants at our VA in Pittsburgh without a problem. I remember talking to one who got one within a week of going there. Was he officially accepted as a candidate to receive a liver after going through a transplant evaluation? Everyone has to do this in order to qualify. Are you sure they are not giving your uncle a transplant because he might be too sick to survive it. Many people are refused because of this. I notice he is on oxygen and seems to have difficulty breathing. Anyone needing a transplant has to go through lung function tests in order to qualify. If their lungs are not good enough, they just probably will not survive this serious surgey. I had a liver transplant and passed my lung funtion tests and was never on oxygen prior to surgery. Even then I had horrible breathing complications and had to be on ventilator for ...more

Till heart and kidney are in good condition, there is not much to be disappointed.
Since Medical science is now so much improved that you can find a cure for affected organs surely.
