Why no leader as honest, righteous and strong in her/his convinction like Mahatma Gandhi, after him?

Was Mahatma Gandhi always Honest and righteous , Yes I agree he used to ride moral high horse but his few decisions were outrightly dishonest and opertunistic for which nation payed high price.

1. He supported Khilafat Movement to gain support of extremist Muslims much to Chagrin of likes of Maulana Azad and even Jinnah at that time. Khilafat was movement to restore Khalifa in Turkey who was overthrown by secular Militery coup of Mustafa Kamal Aturtuk who modernized Turkey.
This made izlamists strong in India and finally sensing the opportunity Jinnah sided with radical wing of Muslim League to divide India.

2. He overruled democratically elected Subhash Chandra Bose from becoming congress president in Haripura Congress , Was this honest and righteous decision.

3. He favoured Nehru to be Prime minister because he did not like Patel much at the time of Partiion.
