Many kinds of food poisoning are caused by bacteria. The most common of these bacteria are Salmonella (pronounced SAL-mo-nel-uh), Staphylococcus aureus (pronounced STAFF-uh-lo-kock-us AW-ree-us), Escherichia coliO157:H7 (pronounced ESH-ur-ick-ee-uh KO-lie), Shigella (pronounced shih-GEL-uh), and Clostridium botulinum (pronounced klos-TRID-ee-um BOTCH-u-line-um). The pattern of disease caused by each type of bacterium is slightly different. Most of them cause inflammation of the intestines and diarrhea. Clostridium botulinum is an exception.

Food and water can also be contaminated by other agents, such as viruses, heavy metals (such as lead, cadmium, and mercury), and poisons produced within the food itself. Mushroom and shellfish poisoning, for example, are caused by poisons produced within the food itself.

Careless food handling creates conditions for the growth of bacteria that make people sick. Food can be contaminated at many different points during its trip from farm to tabl ...more

There are some food called "Virudhdh Aahar" as you have rightly mentioned fish + Milk, Citrus fruits + Milk etc. Besides that some time vessles in which the food is cooked reacts with the ingradiants of the food & some times, if the food is not fresh & a lots of hours have been passed may give some trouble.

food poisoning may be for different reasons. but it can be cured with this method in two days.
The food items mentioned here will cause more disease, if a person with diseae takes them. you think that milk products and nonveg gives good strength and can be taken. they give strength to the disease. a person with disease should fast for one or two days in a week. As people nowadays have no time,i am suggesting this method.
1.daily take 400gms of uncooked cucumber or 300gms of black grapes with outer layer also. Outer layer works as fibre material which is good for bowel movement.

2.Avoid taking milk, curd, curd water, coffee, tea, sweets, icecreams, nonveg ,fish, eggs, nuts like cashewnut, almonds, pistha for one month. Afterwards for 3days in every week.

3.avoid salt in the nights in curries. you take pepper powder as curry without adding salt to it.you can add a little bit of oil in it ,to mix it with rice or take along with chapathi.

I have never experienced food poisoning so far. I think it is better to avoid junk food, fast food, oily food etc as a precautionery measure. Fish and milkproducts will not go together and it is likely to cause disgestive problem. It is allways better to take steamed no oily items while away from home.
