From Madurai (Maattu Thaavani) to Vathiraippu (Vathiraa iruppu) one private bus is there, going in the shortest route.
If the bus is not available for our time, we can get in a bus towards Srivilliputhur/Rajapalayam/Sengottai and we should get down in the busstop called, Krishnankoil (before Srivilliputhur), from where we can get another bus to Vathiraippu.
From Vathiraaippu, mini bus is there or so many share autos are there to Thaanippaarai (basement of the hill) starting place.
From Thanippaarai, we have to start climbing the hill which will take 4-5 hours (normal) to reach Sundramahalingam swamy temple.
While walking, we should have a good stick which will be much of help to us. The stick will be helping us as a third leg and it will save us from the monkeys also.
We should take about 2 litres of water per person, as we cannot find water during our experience.
Other than these, we should take little things as heavy weight will make our trip very tedious.
