Hello Rahee!
Technically speaking, an LED TV is also an LCD TV. Allow me to explain. LED stands for light emitting diode. And when someone says "LED TV", it does not mean the individual pixels are made of LEDs, rather it is an LCD screen with an LED backlight. When someone say LCD TV, they generally mean an LCD screen with a CCFL (cold cathode fluorescent light) backlight.
A simple analogy would be this: All cats are animals, but not all animals are cats. All LED TVs are LCD TVs, but not all LCD TVs are LED TVs.
With that said, LED TVs are far superior to LCD TVs with a CCFL backlight. They produce a brighter, clearer, and crisper pictures.
I hope this answers your question!
