LAN stands for Local Area Network. It describes a computer network which covers a small geographic area.
Broadband describes a method of dividing a single medium to multiple channels, each with their own range of frequencies. This way multiple signals can be transmitted using a single medium.
The term 'Broadband' is often used by ISPs to describe an internet connection faster/better than classic dial-up.
