Q.

LIFE : Hunters, who go hunting illegally, justify it by calling it a sport....With defenseless animals, who do not have weapons to give the hunters a competition, what kind of a justification is that? Why is this illegal hunting/poaching still rampant?

Maybe their brains aint attuned to the fact that they are also fruits of mother nature as mankind is. Or maybe society doesnt knock hard on their heads. Its time the naturalists, conservationists and forest gaurds were given shoot at sight orders to tackle the menace of poaching.

It is illegal to hunt any animal in wild since they live in areas prescribed for them, the jungle. Only when they cross their limit and venture into human habitat and only after it is found to be stiff to chase it to forest again we can hunt it down to save humans. We have no legal as well as moral right to kill any animal in the wild even if it has killed some humans in their prescribed habitat. But the point is all our literature of the past glorify people as hero if he killed umpteenth number of tigers, lions or lions. People deemed it proud to wear chains with the teeth of a tiger, lion or fingernails of tiger and lion. Our grandparents told us stories which glorify Rajahs who killed lions, tigers and elephants.Human race always loves to hunt animals which are more powerful than him in physical sense. And with so many false beliefs such as the medicinal value of tiger bones, rhino horn or crocodiles genitals, such illegal hunting are rampant. There is a reliable incident where a Shiek ...more

Illegal hunting can never be justified. Such humans are heartless. They are not eco friendly. They are cowards to kill with cunning ways defenseless animals .

Across the world, biodiversity and natural habitats are disappearing faster than ever before.

Why? Because as a whole, people are using wood, water, wild animals and other natural resources more quickly than they can be replenished, polluting and altering natural habitats, and changing the entire planet's climate.

This is damaging the ecosystems that supply us and all other life with freshwater, food, clean air, shelter, and more.

Millions of people, in rich and poor countries alike, are already feeling the consequences uncertainties over food and water security, increased vulnerability to natural disasters and diseases.

What defenseless. Can you stand before a wild tiger even with a machine gun in your hand?
Hunting, fighting is sports for men.............Martial Arts, Judo, Boxing, wrestling are revised forms of such sports.
Since some animals are on the virge of getting extinct, their hunting is stopped.
There are no issues with hunting fishes or killing mosquitoes.

These are my own views
1. Maybe it is a habit with some and they cannot resist the temptation. They feel like a king.
2. With a gun or rifle in hand they want to wield their power and could not resist shooting at the defenseless animals.
3. They want to show of to the others how good they are at hunting and show proof by the display of the numerous animal skins in their homes

Greed has made a few human being the worst animal. Recently I read one ad by wild life society- only 1481 tigers are left. And I bet these greedy people must be thinking that still 1481 tigers are there to be killed. And these people have no fear of law, because our criminal justice system is antiquated and extremely weak. Add to this the rampant corruption and what we have got is criminal raaj.

Because hunting requires skills- great skills. An animal has the best defence and that is his sixth sense. Not all hunts are a success, one in ten succeed. Yes but the dwindling numbers are a big cause of concern..

There are so many wrong things going on in our Society and nation. This is certainly one of them. It is even worse because the animals that get killed are defenceless and so helpless. This is purely the cruelty of the human beings, requiring condemnation all around. Illegal hunting/poaching takes place because of the greedy and corrupt people who are entrusted with the task of saving our animals. Let`s hope that awareness dawns on our people and laws are made more stringent to save our animals and endangered species.
