Vande Mataram is the National Song of India(Rashtriya Geet and Not Rashtrageet), just as the Peacock is the National Bird, and the National Animal being the Tiger. The National Anthem is the Rashtrageet or the Rashtragaan (Both mean the same). The National Anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' by Rabindranath Tagore and the Vande Mataram by BankimChandra Chatterjee.
