Misbeliefs. Anyday is as good a working day as any other. May be someone spread this rumour to stop someone superstitious from doing some action which would have harmed the person directly. This is the psychology which works behind the mind in most of the "senseless" rituals

It all depends upon the movement of moon. You cannot get honey from bee-hive on any day. There are certain days in Krishan Paksha when you can get the maximum. Similarly, the rays of the moon are not auspicious for doing some auspicious work on certain tithis. We cannot question the wisdom of our ancient seers without properly understanding and investigating the subject. Shallow knowledge is dangerous. Can you give reply why original pearl is formed when water is ingested in a Seep in Swati Nakshatra only. There are so many unanswered questions.
