Lord Muruga is called by various names like Karthilkeya, Arumuga, Shanmuga, Guhan, Skanda, Subramanya and Kumara. He is considered to be the son of Lord Shiva - the Hindu God of destruction and the brother of Lord Ganesh - the most famous God of India. He is the God of war and the patron deity of Tamil Nadu.

Lord Shiva's elder son Kartikeya is known as Lord Muruga. He is mostly worshiped in South India.

lord muruga is none other than kumara swamy - lord ganesha's brother. he is also called as lord ayyappa in kerala and he is also known as muruga in tamil nadu, tamilians worship him :)
