On the occasion of Diwali, ladoo is of special significance because it is considered auspicious to offer ladoo to Lord Ganesha at the Lakshmi-Ganesh Poojan. Though ladoo is of various types- the Motichoor Ka Ladoo, Sounth Ke Ladoo, Nariyal ka Ladoo, Aate Ka Ladoo, Til Ka Ladoo, the most loved and relishing of them is the Besan Ka Ladoo. Ingredients:
4 cups of besan (gram flour)
1 cup ghee
1 cup powdered sugar (or as per taste)
1 teaspoon cardamom powder.... 15-20 chopped almonds
Method to Prepare Besan Ke Ladoo:
Start with heating ghee in a kadai and then put cardamom powder in it.
Add besan (gram flour) in the ghee and cardamom and fry it on low flame until it turns brown in colour. Turn off the burner and allow the besan mixture to cool.
Add powdered sugar in the mixture and mix it well.
Now add chopped almonds in the flour mixture and mix it. Make small round ladoos from the mixture and serve. You can even preserve them for a while in an air-tight container, if you like.
