Who told you that in India women are respected???? Forget Indian women ,..they don't even show respect towards the foreign women who come to India as tourists.. see the way they are ogled at by our men.. at every step there is fer of molestation and rape..
Till Indian men actually learn to respect women.. such tokenism like Woman's day etc should be avoided.

Maa ka pyaar aur aashirvaad har vyakti ko chayie
wife ka pyaar aur saath har aadmi ko chayie
sister ka pyaar har bhai ko chayie
daughter chaye kissi ki ho har vyakti ko pyaari lagati hai aur usski baatein sab ka mohit kar deti hai
