Why does any (and every) Hindu religion/belief need to be compared with a non Hindu one? No one goes to Kumbh or Ganga Sagar to see some micacle. There is strong superstition among ignorant devotees visiting there, that the jyothi is lit by some divine force, and that is causing unnecessary crowding there on that day. This has resulted in mishaps many times ! Let truth be revealed by authorities themselves. Truth can never be AGAINST spirituality or God !
