Now thats an direct way to increase girl population through greed for money however, what the govt. needs to do is long term solution by increasing awareness and stringent laws against female foeticide. we do not want the girl child to become reason to fulfill greed for money

Yes, the amount should be more.In the States like Goa , an amount of Rs 1,000,00 ( one lakh only) is given to every Goan Girl getting married in Goa.
