With due respect to the political sentiments to Tamil people, I like to say, they are not really testing the political parties there with their demands and scrutiny. How Jayalalitha dares seek votes by creating dramas about Tamil sentiments and displaying hide and seek seek strategy about prospect of relations with BJP later in the post poll scenario? Whether or not she rebuts the Gujarat model, she will extend her hands of cooperation to Narendra Modi. Should she get a few more seats, her bargaining will be harder proportionally. BJP were never a single large force in TN. They had to do courtship either with DMK or AIADMK in the pas for survivalt. And they are not at all seriously trying to waste energy on a state, where the outcome will , in any case , favour them.

As much as I know, ppl. hv sensed the joint agenda of AIDMK & DMK.
Both the parties had taken GE for granted but the new development has made them to come-out with the swift action, otherwise they would loose the base in TN especially when one look in to the aggressive way of BJP in getting alliance in TN especially after meeting Vijay and Rajani.
Though it is bit late, it may help them to some extent since TN ppl. may love to take the bait of supremacy.
