Congress will be very much there whether we like it or not.
The simple reason is that BJP, the only other party, which can be said to give opposition to Congress has compromised itself to being just an Opposition.
BJP has NOT built itself as a viable alternative to Congress during these 63 years after Independence.
BJP has not even made its presence felt on an all India basis!
Organisationally BJP is no match for Congress even today, after 63 years of its existence in the form of Bharatiya Jan Sangh and later Bharatiya Janta Party!
BJP has wasted all these years after Independence in infighting, and friterring away opportunities it got, like six years at Centre heading the NDA and forming govts in the states from time to time !
These are some of the hard facts about BJP...which give Congress a clear and open field all the time.
This is the fate of our country that our polity could not throw up a sound, viable and well established political party to match Congress, and th ...more

Though there is no better alternative to UPA, the Congress leadership has failed to select reliable allies and honest cabinet ministers from itself, except few who themselves find it difficult to be answerable. Crave for black money corrupted its many leaders and those who were once felt to be honest, like Praful patel, are too coming out flanked in scandals. Congress is fully rotten now and it is very difficult for them to convince the people now.
