I'd think it'd mean something like people go after the most beautiful ' birds ' so they are the ones who are caged.
so like there beauty is an attraction. it could mean guys go after the most beautiful girls, therefore their in a relationship and 'caged' or being protected, and in a relationship. not sure, but hope that helped.
